Dog park opens in Delmar, Md. following ribbon cutting

shade structures, picnic tables, benches and water fountains and is located at 8480 Ocean Highway in Delmar, near the Wicomico County Welcome Center.

“We’re excited about this new amenity in the county,” said Wicomico County Director of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Steve Miller, who said the facility is for local residents as well as visitors to the welcome center.

“We really want people to come out to our tourism center and visit this area,” Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano added.

According to Wicomico County Tourism Manager Justin Polizzi, the dog park is separated into 30 pound and under and 30 pound and over areas. There are water fountains in the park for dogs and humans as well as garbage cans and dog waste bags. The park hours are dawn to dusk. The center is also dog friendly and has bathrooms.
