The Salisbury Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport (SBY) was awarded $1,045,462 by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for FY2022. SBY, along with the 15 other Maryland airports, received nearly $31.7M from this law.
“This funding will shore up many of the existing projects to include our runway extension, new firefighting building, and our new airport maintenance facility. As well as continue to fund our existing infrastructure upgrades,” said Tony Rudy, SBY Airport manager.
This is the first installment of what is expected to be five annual installments that the airport will receive from the Infrastructure Bill. According to the FAA, these funds will be eligible for runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, as well as terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects.
