Sharon Chrystal Giles was born in Seaford, Delaware on January 12, 1956 to Marada Elizabeth Giles and Robert “Bobby” Richard Hitchens. She departed this life on March 21, 2020, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.
Sharon was known fondly as “Chris” and “Hot 90”. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1974. She worked for eighteen years at Townsend Poultry in Millsboro, Delaware. For the last nineteen years, she worked at Dart Container Corporation in Federalsburg, Maryland.
She was independent, opinionated, strong-willed, and the life of the party. She was a proud mother and her son was her priority. She loved singing, dancing, playing cards, shopping, jewelry, and always wore lipstick no matter the occasion. She also enjoyed watching basketball and football and was known to be the biggest cheerleader at her son’s sports games during his high school and college athletic careers. She was the queen of leaving voicemails, especially to her grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Marada Giles, her father and his wife, Bobby and Bertha Hitchens, her grandmother, Ardella Virginia West Giles, and her brother, Gregory “Perch” Hitchens.
She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her son, Clarence Giles (Trina) of Laurel, DE; her sisters, Wanda Dixon-Nkwopara of Laurel, DE; Sheila Cannon (Charles) of Laurel, DE; Beverly Giles of Laurel, DE; Terri Winder of Seaford, DE; Jameszenna Roach (Ralph) of Millsboro, DE; Cheryl Hitchens of Laurel, DE; Robin Goslee (Trent) of Laurel, DE; brothers, Joshua Winder of Wilmington, DE and Martin Hitchens of Eggharbor, New Jersey; her grandchildren, Nyra and Jamir Giles, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
