Trunks for Treats, which was scheduled to take place on Oct. 31 at Greenwood United Methodist Church in Greenwood, is cancelled for this year. After prayerful consideration, input from various individuals and members of the church family and guidance put out by the Center for Disease Control, organizers determined they could not safely have this community event during this continuing pandemic.
Also, the church remains closed and will be for a while due to a deep cleaning and some possible construction projects that may be necessary once the cleaning process is complete. The church also considered alternatives to the way in which it has handled this children’s outreach in the past and could not come up with a safe resolution. One such idea was a drive through, but due to the church’s location on such a main thoroughfare this would be impossible.
The church thanks everyone who has attended in past years and looks forward to the possibilities for next year.
