Estelle T. McCarthy of Seaford, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa.

Born in Seaford on June 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mamie (Colodonato) Thomas.

Estelle was known for her great sense of humor although her greatest joy was that she loved spending time cooking for family and friends, where she always had an extra seat at her table. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother.

Estelle was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford and was one of the two oldest members of the Bridgeville Union Methodist Church Ladies exercise group, attending regularly for almost 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. McCarthy; a daughter, Kara J. Powell; a daughter-in-law, Allison M. McCarthy; three brothers, Fred, Phil, and David Thomas; and two sisters, Rose Robinson and Diane Tyndall.  

She is survived by three sons, James F. McCarthy II of Blades, Daniel B. McCarthy of Seaford, and Jeffrey T. McCarthy of Chincoteague, Va.; three daughters, Elizabeth A. Braun and her husband Johannes of Germany, Kathleen M. Campfield of Albertis, Pa., and Patricia McCarthy Feo and husband Mike of Macungie, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sandra (Chris) Weber of Salisbury, Md. and Theresa Nero of Seaford. 

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 16, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E. Stein Highway, Seaford. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, 609 E. King St., Seaford.  Interment will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Seaford, following mass.
