COVID-19 may have caused many cancellations and postponements, but the Greenwood Memorial VFW Post 7478 Auxiliary announced that the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest will continue as usual. Brochures containing rules, eligibility and detailed contest information can be obtained at the Greenwood Public Library in Greenwood.

Students in grades 9-12 by the March 31 deadline who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States, its territories and possessions, or dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel in overseas schools are eligible to enter. Students must be a U.S citizen or U.S. national. Other eligibility requirements can be found in the brochure.

Although students do not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, the student must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary. The contest has two submission categories: 1) Two-Dimensional submissions and 2) Three-Dimensional submissions. The first place winner will advance to the District judging, and the first place winner from the District will advance to the Department (state) judging and will be sent to National judging as the Department of Delaware First Place Winner.
