The Woodbridge High School Marine Corps JROTC Booster Club is holding its second Operation Rabbit Run 5K and Bunny Hop on April 9. It will be held at the Bridgeville Public Library, located at 600 S. Cannon St. in Bridgeville. The proceeds from this event will benefit the WHS Marine Corps JROTC Leadership Program.

The booster club is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that supports the JROTC Leadership program at Woodbridge High School. The cadets perform over 1,000 hours of community service annually to causes in Sussex County. The mission of the Marine Corps JROTC program is to instill all cadets with a sense of citizenship, community service, self-discipline, respect, personal responsibility, leadership, self-esteem, and service to the United States. The organization is partnering with Communities in Schools Delaware to collect much needed items for students in the school district.

The Operation Rabbit Run 5K and Bunny Hop will be a sanctioned TriSports Events 5K Run/Walk for interested runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels. Following the 5K, the cadets, cadre, and booster club will hold its Bunny Hop community event, which will include a basket raffle, food stand, and Touch-A-Truck.
