William P. Wetter of Seaford passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. He was born in Salisbury, MD, on November 16, 1939 son of the late William and Marion Wetter.
Mr. Wetter was a 1957 graduate of Seaford High School. In 1961 he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Delaware and continued on to achieve his Masters in Organic Chemistry from Case Western University in Cleveland, OH. It was then he started his lifelong career as a professor, educating at various universities including: Piedmont University in GA and Rutgers University in NJ.
Mr. Wetter was an active member of Blades United Methodist Church where he was the acting church treasurer. In his spare time, he enjoyed vegetable gardening and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wetter was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Wetter. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Toni D. Wetter of Seaford, DE; one brother, Robert Wetter and his wife Dana of Bear, DE; one sister, Prudence Saunders and her husband, Dudley of Lakeland, FL; one niece, Lori Miller; and one nephew, Wendel Saunders.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Blades United Methodist Church, 306 S Market St, Seaford, DE 19973. Interment will follow services at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Watson-Yates Funeral Home & Crematorium, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, Seaford.
