Tucker Mechanical Service of Bethel has been in the agricultural irrigation business for 29 years. Owners Doug & Kathy Tucker would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their valued business and for making the last 29 years a success.

Doug began working in the irrigation business in 1982. In 1991, he decided he would like to try it on his own and started the business as we know as Tucker Mechanical Service or “TMS”. He started working out of his home with a little pick up and a very hard-working helper, “Willi Jones”. They worked day and night, holidays, weekends; and did whatever they could to keep their customers happy. Kathy managed all the bookwork, learning as she went along with the help of her accountant.

In 1999, TMS became a Valley Dealer. Selling Center Pivot Irrigation Systems from Valmont in Nebraska. “This was a big step for our business.” We now have our own place of business with a large building we use for our machine shop. Another large building used for the office and selling irrigation parts and supplies.

Over the years, we have watched our older generation of farmers leave their farming operation to their sons to take over.

“I have seen the hardships farmers have gone through with their crops. I have seen a generation of farmers give way to a whole new generation of farmers with different ideas, new technology, and I must say I love what I have been able to experience in this business. I have made many friends. I have watch them grow old and pass on and watched their children take their places and that’s why I do what I do despite the fact that I have lots of competition, fight the weather and always need help, and like everyone else, can never find any. But I must say my employees are loyal and have been with me a long time.,” said Doug Tucker.

Doug has recently received his 20-year award from Valley. He is also a Board Member of the Mar-Del Watermelon Association and a member of the National Watermelon Association.

With the help of some of our contractors to lend a helping hand when we need it to our employees that work hard in the heat of summer and the cold of the winter, we appreciate all the hard work that they do for us.

Next year we will be celebrating 30 years in business, but it would not possible without our loyal customers.
