Ted Frederick Cordrey of Laurel went to be with the Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021 resulting from complications of COVID-19. Ted was born on Oct. 6, 1970 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford to Kenneth R. Cordrey and the late Phyllis Cordrey Ennis. He grew up in Delmar, Del. and graduated from Delmar High School in 1988. In 1992 he graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with his Associates in Science in Aviation Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Studies.

He became an airplane pilot at the early age of 16. He loved to fly and anything to do with airplanes. He loved the outdoors, animals and nature including fishing and target shooting. He also enjoyed reading about American and world history as well as sharing his knowledge. But the most important thing he loved were his two kids and shared with anyone who would listen how proud he was of them.

Early in his career he worked for the Wicomico County Soil Conservation District before becoming an agricultural business owner of 20 plus years specializing in crop consulting, soil testing and nutrient management planning.  He will be remembered as being a proud loving father, son, brother, and grandson. He was friends with anyone he met, and he was known for having a big heart, happy smile, unique laugh, and outstanding sense of humor. He will truly be missed but never forgotten!

Ted is survived by grandmother, Annabel Cordrey; father, Kenneth R. Cordrey; sister, HollyAnn (husband Dean); son, Cameron K. Cordrey; and daughter, Logan N. Cordrey as well as many other family, friends, and beloved pets.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. in The Uprising Church located at 204 E. Walnut St., Hebron, MD with Pastor Andrew Cooper.  Due to COVID, we would greatly appreciate masks to be worn and social distancing to be practiced as much as possible.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in his honor.

Condolences may be sent directly to the family via email at deecordrey@aol.com.
