Steven “Barry” Hudson of Seaford and formerly of Laurel, passed away at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford on Dec. 21, 2020. Born in Lewes, he was the son of the late Frank Robert Hudson and Dorothy Gooner Wimbrow.

Barry served in the United States Army from 1960-1964 with tours in Germany and Korea with the 101st Airbourne. He started his career in the sheet metal industry with C.C. Oliphant & Sons and finished his career with Floor Daniels and Mundy Inc. with DuPont. After retirement, he drove school busses for Dutton’s Inc. His biggest accomplishment was getting his high school diploma at the age of 75. He also enjoyed coaching Little League and watching his grandchildren participate in their favorite interests.

Barry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ellen Carey Hudson of Seaford; two children, Christy West and her husband Leon of Laurel, Eric Hudson and his wife Holly of Seaford; five grandchildren, Christonee Burton, Alexis Hudson, Elijah DeShields, Leon West, and Emma Hudson; four great-grandchildren, McKenna Burton, Taj Randal, Blake DeShields, and Noah Hudson; two brothers, Ronald R. Hudson of Kelso, West Virginia, and Fred Wimbrow of Blades; aunt Alma Musser and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

Due to COVID restrictions all services will be private at the Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
