Shirley C. Collison of Seaford passed away on Jan. 16, 2022 from kidney failure. Shirley was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister and will be sadly missed by those who loved her.

 She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mildred Chalmers and her husband, Richard. She is survived by her sons, R. Mark Collison (Joanne) of Williamstown, NJ, and R. Michael Collison (Joanne) of Ocean City, Md. She leaves six grandchildren, Amanda Collison (Iain Carrick), Travis Collison (Chelsea Campbell), Lindsey Temple (Bill), Tara DeMarco (John), Tyler Collison (Carlián), and Chelsea Shook (Jes) as well as seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves three siblings, Ruth Brown of Greenwood, Robert Chalmers of Milford, and Sarah Botte of Rehoboth Beach.

Shirley graduated from Greenwood High School in 1956 and married her high school sweetheart, Richard “Dick” Collison in 1957. She enjoyed her Greenwood classmates, joining them at alumni banquets and monthly luncheons until she was unable to travel.

Shirley began her long secretarial career at O.A. Newton in 1956, moving to Cannon Foods in 1964 where she worked for 26 years. In 1984 she started working for Richard Henson of Henson Airlines, retiring in 1999. Shirley enjoyed singing in the choir at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church in Seaford as well as the Sweet Adelines for many years. She was an active member of the Downtown Seaford Association until her health prevented her participation.

Per her wishes, funeral services will be private and for immediate family only. Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. Arrangements are in the care of Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford.
