Fruitland Chamber of Commerce updated on Wicomico County’s Field Seven and a Half Project to provide a place for disabled children to play baseball

At last month’s Fruitland Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Redmen Lodge in Fruitland, Wicomico County Recreation and Parks Director Steve Miller spoke to members about the county’s plans to build Field Seven and a Half at the Henry Parker Complex at Naylor’s Mill Road. The field, located between fields seven and eight, will provide individuals with physical and mental disabilities an opportunity to play baseball. “We want this to be an opportunity for everyone to participate,” said Miller. “We’re really excited about the opportunity that exists here.” The county will build a modified baseball field so that kids with disabilities can play the National Pastime. Salisbury Christmas Parade

Mountaire Farms presents the 73rd annual Salisbury Christmas Parade, hosted by the Salisbury Jaycees, 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 (rain date Sunday, Dec. 15). Entries are being accepted.

This year’s theme is “A Very Country Christmas.” The parade route will remain the same as in recent years, starting at Civic Avenue and Mt. Hermon Road, then turning onto East Main Street before ending at Wicomico Middle School. The reviewing stand will be located at City Park.

Bingo tickets on sale

Great prizes, a Chinese auction, games of chance – and, of course, bingo – will be featured at Fall’n for Bingo, to be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Salisbury Moose Lodge.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 6. Tickets are $20 in advance (when purchased prior to 3 p.m. on Nov. 21) and $25 at the door. Buy six tickets and get a reserved table.
