Phyllis O’Day Palmer of Seaford passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020.

Phyllis was born and grew up in Seaford. She graduated from Seaford High School and Wesley College. She and her husband owned and operated Soil Service in Seaford, a family business serving the local agricultural community. She was an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church for over 70 years, serving in many areas. She was also a long-time member of the Seaford Acorn Club and The Soroptimist Club. As her children were growing up, she worked with Nanticoke Little League, Cub Scouts and Sunday School.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Byron Palmer, and her grandson, Marine CPL, Cory L. Palmer.

She is survived by her two sons, Ralph Palmer (Bev) and Charles Palmer (Danna), grandchildren, Adam (Hannah), Jackie, Thad (Casey) and Kyle Palmer and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob and Willa.

Due to safety concerns in this time of COVID-19, there will be no funeral. A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine St, Seaford, DE 19973.
