Mitchell “Mitch” eagerly entered this life on Route 50 in Garret County, Maryland, in route to the hospital on Feb. 17, 1950. Son of Haven Rohrbaugh and Francis “Ruth” Nine Rohrbaugh, Mitch and his brother Terry were raised near Deep Creek, Md. until his mother became sick with Tuberculosis and was hospitalized for five years. During this time Mitch and his brother would stay with family in both Maryland and Florida. After his mother healed, she remarried to Donald Henline, and ultimately moved to Rockville, Md. where Mitch became big brother to Janet and Gary.

Mitch served with honorable discharge in the USMC, during the Vietnam War, and then worked as an electrician in Rockville for many years. He married and became father to his two sons, Anthony Lynn and Christopher Ian. After relocating to the Eastern Shore, Mitch worked as a welder and millwright until he retired. Mitch remarried to Virginia and became stepfather to her children Rachel and Billy.

He loved the outdoors and often returned to his stomping grounds on the “mountain” near Deep Creek. He was a boater, hunter, and enjoyed four-wheeling. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, often making gifts and projects for others.

He is survived by his wife Virginia, sons Anthony (his wife Lauren and their daughter Ava) and Christopher (his wife Chrisi and their daughters Annelise and Addie), stepchildren Rachel and Billy (his son Axel), brother Gary, and sister Janet (son Jamie), friends and neighbors in Seaford. As eager as Mitch entered this life, he, too soon, departed with a tragic diagnosis of cancer. On May 9, 2022, our beloved husband, father, and friend entered eternal rest.

Graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 20 at 1 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
