Michael Robert Fillmann, Sr. of Laurel passed away on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. Born in Washington, D.C. on March 18, 1959, Mike was the son of the late Raymond, Sr. and Ann Marie Allen Fillmann.
Mike was a 1977 graduate of Fairmont Heights, Md. High School where he was active in baseball, basketball and football. He thoroughly enjoyed playing and watching all types of sport events. He was active in the Landover Boys Club where he played quarterback for their football team. As a young boy, Mike also had his own newspaper route. During his lifetime, he had worked as a driver/deliveryman for various companies in MD and DE and more recently for FedEx in Seaford.
Mike is survived by his wife, Judy; two sons, Mike, Jr. and John Bell; two brothers, Raymond Fillmann, Jr. and Charles Arnett; one sister, Lynn Arnett and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel, on Thursday, Jan. 6 at 1 p.m. Pastor Casey Houtz will officiate. The Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, DE 19956 is serving the Fillmann Family.
