Lynn Paulette Moore passed away peacefully in her home under the loving care of her husband, Russ, on Dec. 26, 2021 after battling first breast cancer then brain cancer.

Lynn is survived by her husband Russ Moore, her brothers Howard Volmar and David Guerke, her children Eric Stengel (Kathy), Bryan Stengel (Jennifer), Lisa Lake (Mike) and her stepchildren Vicki Smith (Andy), Russ Moore (Heather). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Howard Volmar, mother Albina Hrubes, stepfather Frank Guerke, sister Marlene Volmar and grandson Austin Moore.

In her professional life, Lynn had a long successful career as the office manager for Commercial Drapery Contractors in Annapolis, Md.

Lynn’s personal accomplishments were what mattered most to her. Lynn’s greatest love was her children and grandchildren. Coming in close second was her love for her dogs and cats. She always made room to give any and all abandoned dogs and cats a loving, caring home.

Becoming Catholic was her most rewarding achievement. It changed her life. She taught Sunday school, hand-made rosaries for charitable donations and was in the choir.

Lynn was at her best when she was creative, she enjoyed painting ceramics, making photo albums and tending to her house plants and colorful flowers. She also loved to play piano and there always seemed to be one in the house.

Mass of Christian Burial was on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Seaford. Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in memory of Lynn to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (online at stjude.org) or Four Paws Animal Hospital, PO Box 789, Seaford, DE 19973 (by check or call 302-629-7297 for credit card).
