Letters to the Editor: Drive Thru Food Box Giveaway

On behalf of the Laurel Ministerial Association, a special thanks to Mountaire partnering with us to provide meals to 2,500 families in the Laurel community and surrounding communities on May 16. Thanks to Dukes Lumber for the use of their building to pack the boxes and for the use of their trucks for delivering the boxes to the high school. Thanks for the use of the Laurel High School for a perfect setup for the food box giveaway. Also thanks to the police department (directing traffic), the Gideons (passing out Bibles) and the prayer team (pray- ing for those wanting prayer) for their help on Saturday. A big thank you to the pastors of the Laurel churches and ALL the volunteers who helped on Thursday and Saturday to make this project go so smoothly. Thanks Tim Dukes for coordinating everything and for all you did. Again, on behalf of the Laurel Ministerial Association…thanks to everyone who had a hand in helping. We pray that each family who received a meal was blessed and that the volunteers were also blessed by serving others. Blessings to all.

Pastor John E. Rogers
President, Laurel Ministerial Association
