Lawrence A. Carlton (Larry) passed away on May 13, 2022 at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Larry was born on Aug. 24, 1945 to Samuel and Elizabeth Carlton in Swedesboro, NJ. After Larry graduated from Pitman High School in 1963, he went on to study at Pierce Jr College in Philadelphia. He put his education on hold to serve his country for three years in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. After completing his military service, Larry attended the University of Delaware. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, he started his first job at DuPont. He later moved to the banking industry, and found his calling as a Financial Advisor for PNC Investments. In retirement Larry enjoyed golfing, boating, and spending time with his family.

 Larry was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Samuel and his brother Bennett. He is survived by his wife Cindy; his children Chris (Christine), Keith (Josphine), Andrew, Joseph (Nicole), Rachel (Brock); his grandchildren Rylee, Deegan, and Sean; and his sister Virginia (Dwane). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, DE 19956. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Joe LeCates will officiate. Interment will be held privately. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
