Jay Elmer Marine of Laurel, passed away at his home on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019.
Jay was born in Milford on July 8, 1947, a son of the late Elmer and Helen Pusey Marine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger brother, Brent.
Jay served in the Army National Guard as a heavy vehicle mechanic before working for Penn Central Railroad. He retired after 25 years from Iron Workers Local 16. Jay loved to spend time with his grandchildren and was always a helping hand when anyone needed it.
Jay is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon (Foskey) Marine; two sons, Brian Marine (Nicole) and Chris Marine (Christina); five grandchildren, Kirsten, Brett, Kayla, Anthony, and Nicole; six great-grandchildren, Maleigha, Liam, Anthony, Allison, Emily and Kinsley; his sisters, Shirley Webb (Bob) and Aloma Dumont; his brothers, Bruce Marine (Myrna) and Gary Marine (Carole); and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel, where visitation will be held from 1 to 2. The Rev. Scott Conn will officiate.
