Janet O’Day English of Rhodesdale, Md. passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family and friends after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Janet was born Dec. 1, 1946 to the late Albert and Lulu O’Day. She graduated from Seaford High School with the class of 1964. She went on to work for E.I. Dupont for 27 years before retiring and going to work for the United States Postal Service in Rhodesdale, Md. for 16 years and then as Post Master for 10 years before retiring.

Janet loved to spend time on the golf course and gathering with her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Seaford.

Janet is survived by her husband of 33 years, Walter English; her son, Michael Ellingsworth and his wife Tammy; her daughter Cindy Foster and her husband Mark; her son Walter English, Jr., and her five grandchildren, Brad, Austin, Conor, Kelsey, and Cassidy and her husband Joe.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 25 at 1 p.m. at Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Seaford with Pastor Jake Maclan officiating. Interment at Unity Washington Cemetery in Hurlock followed the service.
