Greta LaVett Stevens Smith, the daughter of the late Fred Stevens and Cleopatra Marcelle and sister to Tony Stevens and Patricia Ann Stevens-Bariel, was born on Nov. 16, 1946. She went to join our Father in Heaven on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at her home.
Greta was married to the love of her life, Boyd B. Smith, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 16, 2012.
Greta was educated in Brooklyn, New York, then furthered her education at Genesis Business School, where she received her Associate’s degree in accounting. She worked for Broadway Dental for 15 years and Camcare for 15 years before retiring in 2009.
Greta had accepted Christ at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with her Bible study friend Yvette Harrie and others.
She leaves to mourn her loss, four children; Benita Smith, Malissa (Raymond) Cage, Boyd (Charlet) Smith and Krisha Smith and a stepbrother, Allen Johnson, who looked out for her for 10 years. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members.
