The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce has the great distinction of being 16 miles from anywhere in Sussex County. We are the county seat and are well known for the court systems surrounding our beautiful circle and the historic and diverse community we serve.

Incorporated in July 1979, the Georgetown Chamber has made it its mission to help local small businesses grow and prosper as well as showcase this community that is home to many museums including The Marvel Carriage Museum, Treasures of the Sea, The Delaware Aviation Museum, the Old Court House, Georgetown Train Station and Georgetown’s First Fire House.

Georgetown is home to Return Day, which started in, near as we can tell, 1792. Return Day was two days after the election and people would come to gather around the circle to hear the election results. Today it is a state holiday that is marked by two days of fun, food and entertainment, culminating in a ceremony to “bury the hatchet.”

Georgetown is home to the Georgetown Chamber’s signature event, Wings & Wheels, held the first Saturday of October each year. This is a family friendly event that revolves around military history and is the stage for WWII- era war birds, a classic car show, the USNA Parachute team and all types of vendors. Having just celebrated year 13, this has quickly become one of the areas most sought out events to attend.

The Chamber holds monthly mixers and breakfasts that promote networking and a chance to bring the business community together. It is very important for us to work together to educate and help our businesses grow. We would be happy to have you join us anytime.
