On Sunday, June 30, 2019, Carolyn Rebecca James of Milford, went home to be with the Lord.
She was born on July 1, 1924 in Sharptown, Md., to the late Harley and Maybel Walker.
After graduating from Sharptown High School, she obtained a degree in business and bookkeeping from Philadelphia Business Course.
Carolyn worked at United Telephone of Delaware before her and her late husband opened James Jewelers at the Nylon Capital Shopping Center in Seaford. She also worked as an office manager for Hasting Brothers Printers and Professional Secretarial Services.
Mrs. James was very good at crafts and enjoyed reading biographies.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lee James Jr. and her daughter, Holly James.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Faye Jones; her son, Mark James and his wife Tracey; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Ashbury United Methodist Church, 607 Main St., Sharptown, on Saturday, July 13 at 1 p.m.
