He was born on Nov. 2, 1957 in Milford, the son of the late Alvin Harrington Outten and Rosalee Fox Outten.

He attended Woodbridge School until his senior year when he graduated from Georgetown Christian School with the class of 1975. He later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education from Spirit and Life Bible College in Elkton, Md. It was there he met the love of his life, Lorna Outten, who he remained married to for 43 years.

He was a master plumber and operated Bryon Outten’s Plumbing Service in Greenwood for many years. He had a loyal following of clients and customers who he treated like his very own family. Known for his love of people and serving others, Byron would always help friends and family in need. Many times you would find him helping widows, orphans, and single parents with needs around the house, looking after children, and assuring there would be Christmas for many area kids.

He was a member of the Connection Church in Laurel. He was always actively involved in church throughout his life, teaching Sunday School, leading worship and playing guitar and often preaching. In his free time, Byron loved to golf, play softball, and watch sports, especially cheering on the New York Giants and Baltimore Orioles. For decades, he wowed friends with his ability to walk on his hands. His years of kindness and generosity has left ripples throughout the community in the countless lives he touched.
