Bonnie S. Parsons of Seaford passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Seaford, she is the daughter of the late Ernest H. Short and Rosella Taylor Short. Bonnie was retired from the E.I. DuPont Company in the Human Resources Department. She had worked for the DuPont Company for over 47 years.
Crossroads Community Church and her church family were very dear to her and she was a member for many years. Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, traveling to Gettysburg and Lancaster, feeding and taking care of her wild rabbits, sitting in her lovely sunroom, and working at the DuPont Company. Most importantly she loved her husband dearly and adored their sweet Shih Tzu “Bart”, whom passed away in 2008.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, George B. Parsons of Seaford; sister, Patricia S. Mitchell of Seaford; nephew, Brent Alan Mitchell and his wife Dawn; great-nephew, Trevor Mitchell; great-niece, Delaney Mitchell. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7 at Crossroads Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, Delaware 19947. Pastor Rick Betts will officiate. In Lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made in Bonnie’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
